Danzar, de nuevo

Did you do ballet as a child and want to dance again?

Contemporary Dance _ Introduction to Technique & Creation

DANZAR, DE NUEVO Noelia Palacios

I am deeply moved by the thought of returning to dance consciously, being gentle with the body I inhabit today.

Even though my professional life went a different way, I never stopped dancing and learning.‍ ‍

It all started at age 6 ,or even before, with classical ballet at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Zaragoza and other studios. Over the years, I explored different styles, also yoga, and pilates, but deep inside, my body was always longing to return to the beginning, always willing to dance again.

As an adult, my experience in contemporary classes was peculiar, surrounded by younger artists driven by a professional vision and rigorous training. The other option out there was biodanza, where the therapeutic gaze felt stronger than the artistic one. I wasn't looking for traditional lessons or annual showcases; I longed for a space dedicated to artistic movement exploration.

That’s when I began renting studios to dance on my own, embracing contemporary dance free from rigid demands, and found a mentor who helped me bring this dream to life.

Then, someone who saw me dancing asked: 'When are you going to share this with others?'

And thats how DANZAR, DE NUEVO was born.

My approach in these sessions builds upon classical ballet as a foundation to explore contemporary dance through the essential principles of technique and creation.

Contemporary dance as an artistic and creative space for rest and freedom.

A space to submerge ourselves once more in the beauty of movement, gently, artistically and sensitively.
